For those who purchase Just Cause 3 on Xbox One, you will receive a free copy of Just Cause 2 that will be playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. You can watch the trailer below.

With this announcement, there now appears to be a clear strategy in how Microsoft is convincing consumers to buy their games on Xbox by using backwards compatibility as a pot sweetener.  Back in June, Microsoft announced that they would be giving away Fallout 3 to gamers who pre-ordered the digital version of Fallout 4 on Xbox One.

Later on in the Xbox Briefing, Rainbow Six: Siege got the same treatment, offering both Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 for free with a purchase on Xbox One.

Just Cause 3 will be launching this Winter on December 1, 2015 for Xbox One, PC and Playstation 4.
